Theo Jensen’s YouTube playlist is just what we need after a busy weekend. This summer the Exploratorium will show the first North American exhibition of Strandbeests by Theo Jansen. The music in many of his videos and the rhythm of his sculptures sets the tone for a relaxing moment and checks off our STEM lesson for the day (which we don’t really check off).
In the video below, Adam Savage explains how you or your older children can make your own model at home, using a kit. You can purchase the rhino and the mini-beest on Amazon. If your children are not ready for the models (like mine), you can purchase a model Theo made with a 3D printer.
