Micawber by John Lithgow

A story you can read over and over, attests Chris Blattman, an economist and political scientist at Columbia University. His blog introduced me to this story of a squirrel from Central Park (NYC) that loves art. Written in rhymes that include phrases like “A viridian Central Park dale” and using colors like “alizarin crimson” and “cadmium green.” You get to practice rolling those off your tongue, while your children capture a little magic of the Met, painting, and New York City. It’s a New York Times Bestseller and an interesting read even for the non-artist (if those exist). Micawber is written by John Lithgow and illustrated by C.F. Payne.
