I would have bought this picture book when I was 2 years old because of the flaps, rhythm, and animals.
I would have bought this book when I was 13 years old because it is poetic.
I bought this book this summer because it captures a lifetime of conversations in a very short story.
Each page goes something like this:
“And the bird is tired
of flying and singing and
he wishes too.
What does he wish?”
“To be a fish so he can
swim around in the
water.”
“Never Content” was designed by Bruno Munari in 1945 and is published by Corraini Edizioni in both Italian and English. I found it at the small store inside the HangarBicocca in Milan. You can read about our trip to this museum here, here, and here.
